Exciton Science Partner Investigator Xiaotao Hao of Shandong University, reinvented his typical annual workshop for Photonics and Organic Electronics as an online and in person event for 2020.

The event in past years has been attended by many Exciton Science members travelling to Shandong. The workshop provided a platform for participants to share the latest research progress as well as explore the potential for collaborations at the frontier of organic photonics and electronics.

More than 30 well-known scientists from various countries including Japan, Korea and Hong Kong accepted invitations to speak, with eight Exciton Science researchers presenting their work. Exciton Science Chief Investigators Ken Ghiggino, Trevor Smith and Wallace Wong were all invited speakers.

The event helped to strengthen the research collaboration between Shandong University and Exciton Science despite the limitations imposed by COVID-19.
